Cup runs add an extra dimension to a football season and for Wainui it has been a long time coming. Their last run in The Chatham Cup was 21 years ago when they reached the quarter finals only to be knocked out by Christchurch United.
This afternoon at Richard Prouse Park Wainuiomata advanced to the second round of The Chatham Cup with an impressive 3 - 0 victory over Seatoun from Wellingtons Capital 2 Division. It's always nice to get a cup run going and maybe the boys can bring some of that form into Saturdays away game at Upper Hutt.
